Warwick State High School has
four very dedicated and committed debating teams competing in the Queensland
Debating Union Competition in Toowoomba. Each alternate fortnight the teams and
their coaches travel to Toowoomba on a Wednesday night to debate on a prepared
topic or a short preparation topic. Through
debating, students can enhance their ability to work as part of a team, improve
their organisation and research skills, improve their self-confidence and meet
new people. These students debate on a variety of current topics and have
enjoyed several successes so far this year.
On Wednesday 18 May, the Year 7
debating team of Paige, Sandi, Lillian and Maddison were again successful and
are now only one win away from the finals.
