School-based traineeships and apprenticeships give students the chance to combine school learning with paid work experience in a real industry. They are a fantastic way to start building skills, experience, and a career while finishing school.
How It Works:
- Students work one day a week during the school week with an employer while completing their studies
- Students earn a wage and gain practical, hands-on experience
- Students complete nationally recognised training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) alongside school subjects
Benefits for Students:
- Real industry experience while still at school
- Develop practical skills in a chosen field
- Build networks with employers and industry professionals
- Boost future career opportunities and employability
The Queensland Training Information Service (QTIS) allows people to search information on apprenticeships and traineeships approved for delivery in Queensland. This service includes details on course information, qualifications, and Registered Training Organisations (RTO) available for each course. For more information please access the following website -
